Caribbean baby!

A friend of mine, Deniece, which is also student at the ABKM, is an intern at Preen now here in London. So we catch up today and made it a nice, swinging’sunshiny day, @ Notting Hill Carnival!

Starting its life as a local festival set up by the West Indian community of the Notting Hill area, it has now become a full-blooded Caribbean carnival, attracting millions of visitors from all over the globe.
With many astonishing floats and the sounds of the traditional steel drum bands, scores of massive sound systems plus not forgetting the hundreds of stalls that line the streets of Notting Hill. The Notting Hill Carnival is arguably London's most exciting annual event!

Here some mood vibes for you, the outfits totally rocked, but it was sooooo crowded that some tube stations nearby closed for security reasons!

Although Deniece and I had a nice day, and were glad to be a part of this big exotic event! :)

Camdentown!

Today I decided to go with Sander, a guy I know from St. Lucas College in the Netherlands, to go to Camdentown the last day of my ‘summervacation’.
At first we met at Starbucks to do some catching up, really weird to speak dutch to someone again, after all those days speaking english! J

Wel yess, Camden,  an exciting market in a historic setting - many units are housed in restored industrial buildings from the canal and steam train ages. You will find here alternative fashions, antiques, collectables ,international food ,street and casual wear, vintage clothing
and more..! I didn’t know where to start! Seriously sooo much to see!

And you know that London is pleased to announce that a number of Camden Town based businesses were recently celebrated as the UK's coolest brands.
All Saints, American Apparel, Proud Galleries, The Roundhouse, MTV, Neals Yard Remedies, Pret a Manger, Whole Foods and Wagamama all made the 2010/11 CoolBrands top 500,
certifying Camden Town's reputation as the coolest location in London.

Also there are sooo many good vintage shops around this area!
Some I visit are-->Rokit, Thea, Episode, Retro World, Theatre 71,  Viola Tricola, & Vintage Planet
So I think I will visit this part of town as often as I can!

So London..!

I think I begin to love London moooore and more!!!
Shure, it IS a big city, and it can be though on your own...but even I have my own 'issue' that's still a part of me, I get setteld in this town and survive!
My room is getting more and more 'me' and I also bought a plant/rose for in my room, at least I have something to look after ;), now I don't have my loved Luca with me...
I try to see as much as I can, what's going on in this town with fashion & design, go to exhibitions, and just being inspired by little things that I like!

ASDA

OMG I just went for some grocery shopping nearby, at 5 mins. walk we have the ASDA superstore, and yes it IS a SUUUPER big store! They have almost everything in it! From vegetables to snacks to every sort of meat, pasta, pastry, clothes, party stuff, make-up, candles, flowers, homedecoration etc etc etc! Was almost an hour inside the first time to find only 6 things!  O_o

Just arrived!

Sooo hey....after a huge struggle and some help from nice people, to get from St. Pancras (centrum) to Leyton (east London ) with my 2 huuuge suitcases, I finally arrived at my room in Leyton! My landlord , Steve W, picked me up at the tubestation, and he gave me all the info I needed about getting around, the house I live in, and my housemates.
I have 4 housemates, everyone has his/her own room and we share the kitchen, ( with washing mashine and dryer!)  living-and bathroom ( with a large bath!) . Oh and we have a little garden behind the house with a picknick table! :) My room is on the back of the house, so every morning I can see some green ( weeed..!) from the garden :)

* My room, not the most beautiful furniture, but it's clean and not small :) Here it's almost finished with my stuff! Thnx my darlings, oma, mama and everyone for the lovely notes and cards!!!

London Baby!!!

Yesss,

Wel my darlings, it took a few months to arrange everything...lots of paperwork...financial stuff...and went in June with my lovely mother to London to view/book a nice room for me! And when summer was almost over, August the 19th , I finally  moved to London for my internship!

Got a one-way ticket London by Eurostar, and with my family, and two suitcaces ( that weight more than myself I think..!!!) As a family we had a last Coffee break together and than;

I started my journey all alone, at Eurostar Brussels to London St. Pancrass International!

Even I'm already here in London now for 1,5 month, and totally setteld in :)

I love to be here!

I just want to keep everyone update of my adventures in this big city! Because not every one is on FaceBook, I made this blog called  'Models In Rehab',

It will update you with the first steps I take and moves I make around the Capital!

And also shows a little bit of what inspires me like fashion & design!

I'm gonna stay until the end of November, so come visit me any time! ;)
